Fine Motor Toy Selection

Ages 0-2 Stacking animal cubes (These are bright and fun for visual stimulation.  They are an excellent way to refine controlled grasp and release. Once stacked high, encourage your child to knock it down and start again.

Preschool: Felt Boards (We have a ballet scene for girls and a pirate scene for boys. Excellent, imaginative and a fun way to develop and perfect the fine pincer grasp. For accurate placement of the felt pieces, children will need to grasp and release with care and control.

School Age 6+: Make a Mosaic (We have 2 designs, animals and flower people. These craft kits are colourful, creative and require great grasp, release and in-hand manipulation skills. What better way is there for your child to practice and refine their fine motor skills than with an activity that produces a great end product to keep - you could even frame it!).
